The Screen Actors Guild Awards, also known as the SAG Awards, have revealed the nominees for their 30th annual ceremony, honoring the best performances in film and television from the past year. The nominations were announced on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, by actors Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani via Instagram Live1.

This year, the SAG Awards will stream live globally on Netflix on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. The ceremony will also honor the legendary Barbra Streisand with the SAG Life Achievement Award, recognizing her achievements and contributions to the art and craft of acting1.

Among the film nominees, Maestro, a biopic of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, starring Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan, leads with four nominations, including outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, the SAG equivalent of best picture. It is followed by American Fiction, a drama about a black writer who is accused of plagiarism by a white critic, starring Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K. Brown, and Poor Things, a dark comedy based on the novel by Alasdair Gray, starring Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe, with three nominations each1.

Other films that received multiple nominations include Killers of the Flower Moon, a historical thriller directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone; Barbie, a live-action adaptation of the iconic doll, starring Margot Robbie and Daniel Kaluuya; and Oppenheimer, a biopic of the atomic bomb scientist, starring Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt1.

On the television side, The Last of Us, a post-apocalyptic drama based on the video game of the same name, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, dominates with five nominations, including outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. It is followed by Abbott Elementary, a workplace comedy set in a public school, starring Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams, and The White Lotus, a satire of the privileged guests and staff of a Hawaiian resort, starring Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett, with four nominations each1.

Other shows that received multiple nominations include Ahsoka, a spin-off of The Mandalorian, starring Rosario Dawson as the titular Jedi; Barry, a dark comedy about a hitman who wants to be an actor, starring Bill Hader and Henry Winkler; and Beef, a dramedy about a long-running feud between two neighbors, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong1.
